Remarketing / retargeting ads enables the advertiser to remind the website visitor of the consumer/corporate brand, its products, and/or to revisit the website for a special offer. Advertising channels include:
- Google Ads remarketing / retargeting ads
- Bing remarketing
Retargeting allows the advertiser to select previous website visitors that have picked up a cookie on their computers or devices. The advertiser can isolate a certain section or web page/URL, or they can target those who have previously ordered, but abandoned the shopping cart, or already ordered.
There is another type of display remarketing, where similar audiences are chosen by the search engine based on various criteria. The display image ads would be shown to those users, on desktop, laptop, mobile device or tablet.
